International Women’s Day falls on Sunday 8th March and this year, the theme is #EachToBeEqual. The day is about celebrating women and their achievements, whilst challenging stereotypes, bias, discrimination and perceptions. It’s important that the world is equal and each person, regardless of gender is treated with the same respect.

In our ever-increasing technological society teachers need to have the technological knowledge alongside the pedagogical and content knowledge needed to be effective teachers. The TPACK (Technological, Pedagogical and Content Knowledge) designed by Punya Mishra and Matthew J. Koehler (2006) has been used successfully by many schools as a learning framework that effectively enhances the use of educational technology. It considers these three areas of knowledge.

Students need the knowledge and scepticism to evaluate new developments, regardless of what device they are using.
Our Education for a Connected World Framework document complements the Digital Technologies curriculum, which covers the principles of online safety for Early and Primary years of schooling, with progression in the content to reflect the different and escalating risks that students face.
