Purple Mash and the new academic year

Nov. 24, 2021

As the new academic year begins, we wanted to share with you some useful links we know will help you and your colleagues get started. In the post we'll cover account set up for Purple Mash admins, including data syncing and adding new classes; plus we'll share with you useful tools and teacher resources to help you feel prepared at the start of the new year.

1) Setting up or updating your account

Purple Mash admins, make sure your school account is linked to your student data (SIS). Manually updating students, classes and teachers each year is a thing of the past. SIS integration is GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliant and free for existing users.

If you don’t wish to or are unable to use the quick sync account update via your school database (SIS), then we can also guide you through how to do this, please contact us and we will do it for you.

2) Login cards and parent letters

Print login cards, with personalised log-in details for each student to make logging in from home or in class quick and easy.

If you use the Parent Portal you can also print parent letters with their dedicated parent code to allow parents/carers to gain insight into their child's learning on Purple Mash.

To print login cards and parent letters navigate to the admin settings on your profile.

Login to read our user manual on creating login cards and parent letters

Whether you're starting new in this role or are a more experienced subject coordinator looking for additional support, our subject toolkit for Digital Technologies Coordinators is perfect for you and your team members.

It contains a range of practical and useful documents which make auditing, action planning, reviewing provision and developing you as a coordinator a lot less onerous. Download this subject leader toolkit from the 'free stuff' area or login to Purple Mash to access it in the planning section of the Teacher's area.

6) DigiTech Scheme of Work

Our teacher's area is packed full of helpful tools and guides, including the Purple Mash DigiTech Scheme of Work; a powerful comprehensive resource aligned to the national curricula

To further support the delivery of the Purple Mash DigiTech Scheme of Work, we have created slideshows for each of the units in the scheme.
