World Poetry Day is celebrated every year on the 21st March. One of the main objectives of the day is to support linguistic diversity through poetic expression and to give endangered languages the opportunity to be heard within their communities. International Womens Day falls on Monday 8th March. The day is about celebrating women and their achievements, whilst challenging stereotypes, bias, discrimination and perceptions. To mark International Womens Day, we have several resources and activities for you to use on Purple Mash to explore and write about inspirational women from across the globe. From humanitarians and nurses to sportswomen and scientists, we have them all.

On March 3rd, it is World Wildlife Day, a day to celebrate and raise awareness of the worlds wild animals and plants. World Wildlife Day in 2021 is celebrated looking at the theme of Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet as a way to highlight the central role that forests, forest species and ecosystems service in sustaining the livelihoods of hundreds of millions of people globally.
