We are excited to launch our first 2Animate competition for schools. 2Animate is a fabulous tool that helps bring learning to life and can be used to demonstrate a range of concepts across the curriculum. We cannot wait to see how creative your pupils can be using 2Animate to create a short animation (30 seconds-1 minute) to explain a concept in science, a time in history or a place/feature in geography.

What you can win

We will choose one winner and a runner up from each age group. The winning school and pupil will receive:

• A £200 voucher to be used to pay for any 2Simple product
• A collection of DK learning books for the school library
• A £20 Amazon voucher (for the winning pupil)
• A 2Simple goody bag (for winning pupil and runners up)

How it works

The competition is open to all children under 12 years old, and those who attend SEND provision up to the age of 18. All they need to enter is a flair for design and a Purple Mash account. If your school doesn't have a Purple Mash account, you can still enter by signing up for a free trial on this page.

To enter, children simply design their animation using Purple Mash tool 2Animate a Picture and submit it to the digital Display Board for their age category. At the end of the competition, our favourite design wins. It’s 2Simple!

There are three age categories:

• Under 7s
• Under 9s
• Under 12s
• Those who attend SEND provision up to the age of 18 are welcome to enter the appropriate age group, as decided by their teacher

When you can enter

The competition opens on 26th January and runs until 5pm GMT on Thursday 6th April.

How to enter

Visit the 2Animate competition area on Purple Mash here to find all the information you need, including a competition overview, a poster to encourage pupils to take part and a range of videos to inspire pupils.

Once they have completed their animation, your pupils just need to click "share" and select the Display Board for their age group, it’s as simple as that!

Teachers can also sign up for our animation webinar on 30th January which will look at all the skills and knowledge needed to teach animation. If you sign up you will then be sent a recording of the webinar.
