Fete de la Musique – World Music day is an annual music celebration started in France in 1982 and which now takes places in 125 countries and 1000 cities across the world on 21st June. Make Music Day is the UK’s contribution and aims to turn the country into a stage and enable performers the opportunity to develop their musical skills. With social distancing measures in place in the UK, the day is moving online and there are lots of ways to get involved. You can find out more on their website.

Python in Pieces is an interactive coding environment, designed to build student and teacher confidence in the text-based coding language of Python. With the ability to easily translate from block-code to Python, in BOTH directions, meaning that students quickly become empowered to progress from the expectations of KS2 through to KS3. We visited Caroline Chisholm School (before Lockdown) to see Python in Pieces in action.

Now in its seventh year, International Women in Engineering Day is a day to celebrate and raise awareness of women choosing a career path within this exciting industry. Taking place on 23rd June, this day is all about appreciating the contribution that women engineers make. Although the campaign is now running virtually, there are several ways you can get involved in the celebrations and to #ShapeTheWorld.
