Python in Pieces is an interactive coding environment, designed to build student and teacher confidence in the text-based coding language of Python. With the ability to easily translate from block-code to Python, in BOTH directions, meaning that students quickly become empowered to progress from the expectations of KS2 through to KS3. We visited Caroline Chisholm School (before Lockdown) to see Python in Pieces in action.

Now in its seventh year, International Women in Engineering Day is a day to celebrate and raise awareness of women choosing a career path within this exciting industry. Taking place on 23rd June, this day is all about appreciating the contribution that women engineers make. Although the campaign is now running virtually, there are several ways you can get involved in the celebrations and to #ShapeTheWorld.

The move from Primary School to Secondary school is an exciting time for many, but also one that can be daunting and full of questions. The transition this year for Year 6 is a totally different one. With many Year 6 students returning to schools this week and in the weeks to come, but returning to a different school than the one they are used to, with ‘bubbles’ and social distancing, preparing them for their time at Secondary School and remembering their time spent at Primary is a challenge.
