Transition activities with Purple Mash

June 30, 2020

Transition is both an exciting and challenging time for pupils, whether that be to a new year group or new school. Preparing children for the change that is coming is important. Transition this year for all children is totally different, with some children being in school and a large part not able to return to school this academic year.

Are you ready for National Poetry Day?

Sept. 30, 2019

National Poetry Day is celebrated every year in the UK, with the aim to inspire children and adults to discover and share poetry. This year Forward Arts Foundation charity, the organisers of National Poetry Day, have chosen the theme of ‘Truth’. Though, the theme should kickstart inspiration and is not prescriptive. Explore the theme with your pupils by telling a truthful story, or even a naughty lie using a poetry template!

How Purple Mash supported Hillside School in teaching

Sept. 13, 2019

Staff were introduced to Purple Mash at Hillside School after being identified by Aberdeenshire Council as a school who would be enthusiastic and keen to welcome a pilot. This was led by Fiona Lindsay and started after the Spring break. Fiona had previously used Purple Mash when it had been available through Glow. Staff were positive about using the resources available to them.
