We were recently lucky enough to be invited to Sunnyfields, a lovely one form entry primary school in North London to see how this 2Simple Centre for Excellence school use Purple Mash across the curriculum. With their high usage across subject areas and outstanding teaching of computing, we knew this would be a great place to visit.

We were welcomed warmly by Computing Lead Noeleene Coutinho, who ushered us into a Purple Mash coding class where Mr Richards was teaching his year 6 class how to code using 2Code. The children all interacted well with the game, enjoying the challenge of moving their turtle in alternative directions. Luckily, we brought our video camera with us and captured the action.

We were amazed by how much Purple Mash had become ingrained in the DNA of the school after only a year. Countless Purple Mash display boards and posters are dotted around the whole building and everyone we spoke to was really enthusiastic, children and adults alike.

It was very evident that Purple Mash has transformed computer teaching at Sunnyfields. Children expressed their enthusiasm for the program, and how much they enjoy using it at home as well as in class.

Below is a video we created of our visit to Sunnyfields Primary. Enjoy!
