The Childhood Day Mile is part of the NSPCC’s flagship Childhood Day on Friday 7th June, and is a fun way for children to learn about the essential services provided by the NSPCC and at the same time raise funds to support Childline, Helpline, and the NSPCC’s other life-changing services including Speak out, Stay safe assemblies.
Registration is easy and, on signing up, schools receive a free Welcome Pack with an activity spinner so that children can decide how to move their mile. They can walk, skip, dance, relay or choose any other activity – the possibilities are endless. Schools will also receive a range of online resources and an assembly plan.
The NSPCC is also pleased to be partnered for the third year running with the award-winning CBeebies series Bing. This means that when nurseries/Early Years register to take part in the Childhood Day Mile they are also sent a Bing poster and Bing stickers and are automatically entered into a prize draw to win a visit from Bing and Flop (terms and conditions apply).
Our free Active Lunchtime pack is perfect to download to use for the Childhood Day Mile. The active lunchtimes pack has been created for children to lead games and activities at lunchtime and break times in school.
Children can apply to be a Sport leader and run the activities outlined in the pack.
Each card outlines a different activity and resources needed to run it. These can be printed and laminated and used by Sports leaders.
This free pack is a selection of some of the activities that are included in the full pack that is available with a subscription to Striver.
