Nov. 22, 2019
From Wednesday, 22nd January to Saturday, 25th January 2020, the Excel Centre in London will be home to Bett 2020. This is the first industry show of the year in the education technology landscape bringing together 800+ leading companies, 103 exciting new EdTech start-ups and over 34,000 attendees from the global education community. They come together to celebrate, find inspiration and discuss the future of education, as well as the role technology and innovation plays in enabling all educators and learners to thrive. This year the Education show will also be fully integrated into the Bett show which this year will be divided into six zones.
We started creating educational solutions for schools over 20 years ago. We’re celebrating our 20th birthday by thanking you, for all the extra things you do to educate and inspire learners. Our celebrations will be in full swing at Bett, so come to stand NG50. For our birthday, we’d like to give you a free resources pack, that includes; Free Schemes of Work, Wellbeing Packs, Toolkits, Ofsted Guide and more.
There will be demonstrations on all of our products, including Purple Mash, Evidence Me, Mini Mash, Striver and Serial Mash and a chance to talk to our teams who will be happy to answer any questions or queries you may have. You’ll also see some of our new products that focus on wellbeing, PE and safeguarding.
We are dedicated to promoting wellbeing in schools, and so have created ‘2Simple Wellbeing’ that specifically focuses on resources that schools can use to support pupil’s personal development. People are becoming increasingly more aware of the importance of mental health and wellbeing within schools and the benefits for positive mental health and wellbeing on all aspects of the school community.
The new Relationships, Sex Education guidance from the Department of Education recognises the importance of teaching pupils about wellbeing and within the new framework, Ofsted will also be looking at how schools promote positive wellbeing amongst staff and pupils.
We will also be handing out a wellbeing pack at BETT for staff and pupils with activities and tips to use back in school.
On Thursday 23rd we will also be chairing a discussion in the schools theatre on Mental health and wellbeing – the why, how and what – you can sign up here.
You can find out about our latest product Striver at Bett. Striver is our new PE and wellbeing platform that has been created with a sole purpose: to improve primary aged pupils’ (5-11) long-term physical and mental wellbeing. We do that by ensuring children of all abilities feel motivated and engaged, and teachers of all experience levels feel confident and in control.
It’s the only PE scheme of work that includes health and wellbeing lessons. It houses hundreds of PE lessons, with step-by-step lesson plans and supporting diagrams and has been designed to minimise the time required for admin with our 1-click assessment system.
Bett will be our official launch of Dot Com Digital. Dot Com’s founder Sharon Doughty is speaking on the main Bett Stage on Thursday 23rd of January, alongside schools who have made use of the Dot Com platform to empower children and teach them how to communicate their experiences. Sharon will be sharing the reason for Dot Com’s creation and how it gives children the opportunity to identify worries and concerns and speak up about these, as well as developing a child’s emotional intelligence.
There will be a Bett version of Dot Com Digital available for free looking at values. It will contain activities, stories and children will be able to meet the characters on the Dot platform who provide a digital support network for children. All the activities are mapped to the 2020 guidance and PSHE curriculum. There will be session guides available, alongside publishing projects, paint projects and Mashcams.
We’re also incredibly excited to announce that Bett will be hosting both the first national #EduFootyAid all-regions tournament and the first all-female game! #EduFootyAid is about much more than football. We launched #EduFootyAid in 2018 in memory of our friend and colleague, Jonny Zucker, who tragically took his own life. Today, there are more than 200 teachers registered to play across the country. Our matches raise money to support the mental health charity Mind, but most importantly our goal (pun intended) is to build communities and promote teacher wellbeing. Read our blog here about how you can get involved.
We’ve recently redeveloped our assessment and observation app (formerly 2Build a Profile). It has had a complete redesign that includes some really exciting features, such as; auto-suggesting of objectives based on observations, a new face blurring feature which is perfect for sending images of individual pupils to parents with greater security, all new report types and much more.
You can find out all about Evidence Me here and then come see us at stand NG50 to get a demo.
