Maths Week London 2021

June 7, 2021

Here at 2Simple, we are a proud partner of Maths Week London which will be taking place from the 28th June –2nd July 2021.

In 2020, over 800 schools celebrated Maths Week London 2020 virtually, from number hats to calculator cakes, schools across London shared the creative ways they were celebrating maths during the pandemic.

As a partner of this week, we have created a free downloadable pack which contains 2 of our most popular Maths games as well as a range of activities written especially for Maths Week London 2021, absolutely free! You can access this via the 'resources' tab on the Maths Week London website. Alongside a host of resources from the other partner organisations for Maths Week London.

Maths Week London’s mission is to ignite a love of maths in children across the capital. Numeracy is a vital skill and we believe it can and should be enjoyable, relatable and accessible.

Working with schools and families, Maths Week London aims to:

  • improve children’s confidence in mathematics
  • demonstrate to children the value of maths as a lifelong skill by linking it to the wider world
  • encourage all children to develop their maths skills and have a positive attitude

We are also delighted to be one of the sponsors of the Maths Week London TeachMeet which will be held on Tuesday 29th June, 16:30-17:45. The theme for this TeachMeet is maths (!) and is an invitation to talk about anything you’ve seen/experienced that works well (or perhaps doesn’t). This is an opportunity to bring educators together online, sharing insights and best practice to support the mission of the week of improving children's confidence in mathematics. After over a year of disrupted learning it is an opportunity to share and hear from others as to what strategies worked and what lessons teachers will be taking forward. Sponsored by Sumdog, Times Tables Rockstars and 2Simple, there’ll also be a virtual raffle with some great prizes to be won for your school.

It will be a chance to share with colleagues a range of different ideas, and take something new back to your own classroom

There are 3 options to consider if you want to come along:

  • Deliver a 7-minute ‘micro’ presentation
  • Deliver a 2-minute ‘nano’ presentation
  • Just come along and see what’s happening!

The TeachMeet is free to attend and you can sign up to take part.

So, what are you waiting for? Sign up today and save the date to take part in this fantastic week!
