EU Code Week - 10th-25th October.

EU Code Week is a grassroots initiative which aims to bring coding and digital literacy to everybody in a fun and engaging way. Learning to code helps us make sense of the rapidly changing world around us the EU Code Week website has a range of resources and toolkits for teachers to help you get started.

If you are joining in with #CodeWeek we have picked activities that you can use to support coding in school.

World Mental Health Day - 10th October

The World Health Organisation recognizes World Mental Health day on 10th October every year. This year’s theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is ‘mental health for all’. This blog outlines the ways that schools and teachers can mark World Mental Health Day in schools.

Walk to School Week 2020

Walk to School Week is one of our favourite weeks here at 2Simple. Starting on 5th October, the week allows us all, pupils and grown-ups across the UK the chance to unite for one week of walking to school. The theme this year is Health and Wellbeing.

The Big Draw Festival - 2020

The Big Draw Festival is a worldwide celebration of drawing, organised by The Big Draw charity, this event is now in its 20th year. The promotion of the universal language of drawing as a tool for learning, expression and invention are at the heart of the festival. Starting in October, the theme this year is ‘The Big Green Draw – A Climate of Change’.

Lanchester Primary: Purple Mash for blended learning and effective feedback

Martin Bailey, Digital Enrichment Leader at Lanchester EP Primary School, spoke to us at 2Simple recently about how his school used Purple Mash during the national lockdown, and how Purple Mash is currently helping the school with a blended approach to learning and ensuring that effective learning is still taking place for their pupils online.
