On World Oceans Day, 8th June, people around our blue planet will be coming together to celebrate and honour our oceans. The ocean connects us all, between countries and across the world and by working together, we must protect and restore our oceans. The conservation action focus this year is 'Wonder: Sustaining what sustains us'.

To teach your students about World Oceans Day, we have several resources on Purple Mash that you can use.

World Environment Day, celebrated on June 5th, is a global event organized by the United Nations to raise awareness about environmental issues. The theme for 2025 is #BeatPlasticPollution, focusing on driving momentum to 'refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle and rethink' plastic use. In this blog, we offer a variety of activities and resources to help schools participate and educate students on how to #BeatPlasticPollution.

This year National Recycle Week runs from 14th-20th October. This year's theme is 'Rescue Me', and focuses on rescuing recyclable items from the rubbish bin. At 2Simple, we have collected a range of activities on Purple Mash, that you can use in class to encourage everyone to recycle.

Join in with the Geographical Association's National Festival of Fieldwork throughout the month of June with resources on Purple Mash. This year's theme is 'Fieldwork for Everyone' which links to their 2024 Conference, and is a flexible and adaptable theme.
