The leading EdTech trade show in the UK is back and we’ll be there! Bett 2022 is a free event that is taking place from 23rd to 25th March 2022 at London Excel. Each day in the run up to #BETT2022 we will be showcasing one of our products that you can find out more about at the show. You can find us on stand NE61 in the teaching and learning area. Today we take a closer look at online library Serial Mash.
Serial Mash is your online library for reading and comprehension. With a library of over 100 books that cater for ages 5-11, many featuring popular curriculum topics, Serial Mash is the best place to support reading. It comes with free home access, making it a brilliant way to make more books available at home. Read on tablets, on laptops, with print out copies, or together via an interactive whiteboard, highlighting important words as you read. Each book chapter is complemented by a host of printable resources for whole class, group or individual use. Comprehension quizzes, grammar worksheets, sequencing activities, and open-ended questions - they're all in one place.
Get children practising diverse forms of writing at a click of a button! Children can write a news report, compare the two main characters or dream up their very own version of the next chapter.
Home access is a key part of Serial Mash, providing all children, regardless of background, with a growing library of books they can read for pleasure away from school. Everyone at Serial Mash is committed to helping children have a love of reading and develop the key life skill. The resources accompanying each chapter help ensure children develop the skills to become higher level readers and save the teachers' time in preparing them.
We are really looking forward to talking to our teachers at BETT and finding out how Serial Mash has supported them in schools over the last 18 months, as well as showcasing changes and highlighting upcoming events such as our Meet the Author Webinars. These are a chance for pupils and teachers to meet the writers behind some of our books in Serial Mash. The sessions are open to all schools, even if the school does not have a Serial Mash subscription. The sessions will last around 45 minutes and upcoming sessions include:
