Using Evidence Me for Remote Learning

Jan. 5, 2021

Schools in the UK are once again closing for the majority of pupils due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, making it necessary for school leaders and teachers to prepare for remote learning and home access. Using Parent Share in Evidence Me helps support remote learning.

Parent Share is quick and easy to use with the dedicated parent app which includes two-way functionality. As well as being able to see observations from the teachers, parents can comment and upload their own multi-media observations making this a perfect way of keeping in touch with your parents and pupils during this period of remote learning.

How to use Parent Share as a teacher:

  1. Create a new ‘Observation’. This can include an activity, message or document. Click here to see how to upload a document.
  2. Add all the details of the activity in the notes section of the observation.
  3. Assign the activity to the learners that you want.
  4. Set as ‘Parent Share’. If you have the parent review feature switched OFF, observations will automatically be shared with parents. If you have this feature switched ON don’t forget to go to the websuite parent share area and choose ‘release to parents.’
  5. Parents will then get a notification.

Parent share for parents:

With Evidence Me Parent Share, you do not receive login details to access your child’s account. The school will email you your child’s reports directly to your email inbox. If you do not have your login details, please contact your school directly.

How do I send an observation into my child’s profile?

You can send in observations by following one of the below steps:

  1. For each Parent Share observation, you can add evidence. This could be an activity or a piece of work.
  2. You can create your own observations by clicking the camera, video or attach file button.
  3. Please note you must select your child’s name where it says ‘Add Learner’
  4. Now click ‘Add Parent Notes’ and input your detail here.

Observations will automatically be uploaded to the school’s account as long as your device is connected to WiFi. This is indicated by a green dot appearing in the top left-hand corner of the observation thumbnail.

Observations with a red dot in the top left-hand corner have not yet been uploaded and will upload as soon as your device is connected to a good WiFi connection.
