Using Purple Mash for school closure - update

March 18, 2020

Schools worldwide are now closing due to the current CoVID-19 outbreak, making it necessary for school leaders and teachers to prepare for remote learning and home access.

Purple Mash is ideal for ensuring that learning continues, it is online, can be accessed on any device that has internet access and it’s filled with resources and activities across the curriculum. These activities can be set for children to complete online or printed to take home. We are offering schools and home users free access to Purple Mash and Serial Mash, our online reading and writing platform. You can gain access to both here. To support the use of the platforms at home, we have created a Home Learning document, for schools planning remote learning.

Additionally, the School Closure Pack is a guide for using Purple Mash. Parents can also download our parent newsletter filled with activities to use with your children. As part of our recent updates, pupils are now able to upload Word and PowerPoint documents into their 'my work' area. Download our user guide here to show how.

If you are a teacher, go to our blog here to read more about how Purple Mash can support remote teaching.

For our Evidence Me customers, you can use the parent app to set projects for children to work on at home and communicate with parents. We have created a separate blog to show you how this can work.

Finally, we are very aware that social distancing and self-isolation may impact our mental health and wellbeing. So, we are sharing the Yoga and Mindfulness units from our PE and Wellbeing platform, Striver that can be used at home. You can download these free PDF’s here.
