Schools will have access to Serial Mash from 3rd June 2024. Minutes read from 8th July-13th September 2024 will be counted towards the challenge. Minutes can be submitted from 14th-29th September 2024.
Serial Mash can be accessed on computers, tablets and phones.
If chapters are opened and fully loaded before going offline, then they can be read when offline. We would advise loading all chapters of the book in different tabs so that children can continue reading as much of the book as they want to when offline. Please note that other features, such as audio, may not work when offline.
No, Serial Mash automatically records how long children spend reading books on the platform. Parents can help their children log in by visiting the Serial Mash log in page.
Yes, books which are not on Serial Mash can be added onto the online journal, and these minutes will count towards final totals.
Books read outside of Serial Mash can be added to children’s online reading journals by searching the title or typing in the ISBN number.
The lead teacher at school will be sent an email in September explaining how to log their school’s average minutes.
