Purple Mash is a cross-curricular primary school platform created by Education Technology company 2Simple. Founded by a primary school teacher in 2010, the award-winning platform is now used in over 6,500 schools across the UK and international schools worldwide. Developed to support teachers in the classroom the platform is closely mapped to the National Curriculum and supports teachers to inspire children to be creative and make learning fun.
In line with our mission of developing technology that improves the learning opportunities of all young people, we are now looking to enhance learning outside the classroom through the creation of collaborative relationships with external organisations; our ‘Mash Partners’.
Alexandra Palace has been at the heart of its local community for 150 years. Originally conceived to be for the entertainment and education of the masses, today it has become a much-loved venue welcoming millions of people every year. Throughout its history the Park and Palace have been used in many different ways including Victorian spectacle, a refugee and internment camp during the First World War and as the birthplace of BBC Television in 1935.
Thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, we have developed a 6-week project for pupils to become Curators of the much-loved building. Pupils will research the varied uses of the Palace and work together to create their own Alexandra Palace exhibition.
To complete the project local schools are invited for a tour of the building, email learning@alexandrapalace.com to discuss dates and numbers.
