Moon Day

July 15, 2021

On the 20th of July every year we celebrate National Moon day! This day commemorates the day Neil Armstrong landed, and took the first steps on the moon. This historic moment took place on the 20th of July 1969. That's 52 years ago! It was at this historical moment that Neil Armstrong said the well known phrase "That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

How did Neil Armstrong and his team get to the Moon? On an aircraft called Apollo 11. The whole world waited with bated breath as the astronauts stepped onto the moon.
