British Science week is a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM), coordinated by the British Science association. This year, it runs from 7th to 16th March with the theme 'Change and adapt'.
To support teachers and pupils in engaging with the theme, we've compiled a range of interactive resources and activities, alongside exciting new ClickView videos - all available within Purple Mash!
The British Science Association have produced a range of activity packs which have been created in partnership with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). These contain lots of activities around all sorts of changes and adaptations, and can be used at home or in the classroom, allowing children to participate in the fun at any time.
They are also running their poster competition again this year, with a range of fantastic prizes, the poster should be on the theme of 'Change and Adapt' and entries can be submitted up to 3rd April 2025.

There are lots of teaching resources for different aspects of adaptation in the Evolution and Inheritance folder on Purple Mash. You can choose to look at the adaptation of plants, or of different animals to different environments. All of these resources have an information box which shows on the screen when it is opened, giving children useful information to get them started.
