We are delighted to announce our new Meet the Author sessions for schools, a chance for pupils and teachers to meet the writers behind some of our books in Serial Mash. The sessions are open to all schools, even if the school does not have a Serial Mash subscription.
Serial Mash is your online library for reading and comprehension, with a new chapter every week of term, writing activities and guided reading resources, all the hard work is done for you. The ever-growing collection of titles is designed to inspire children to develop a love of reading, become better readers, and provide resources to support busy teachers in the classroom. Through the publication of bespoke weekly fiction, Serial Mash leaves every chapter on a cliff-hanger, encouraging children to keep returning to find out what happens next.
Home access is a key part of Serial Mash, providing all children, regardless of background, with a growing library of books they can read for pleasure away from school. Everyone at Serial Mash is committed to helping children have a love of reading and develop the key life skill. The resources accompanying each chapter help ensure children develop the skills to become higher level readers and save the teachers' time in preparing them.
The Meet the Author sessions will last around 45 minutes and will take place during the school day, so perfect to use as part of an English session. During the session the authors will talk about the following:
The sessions will end with a sneak preview of a new book coming soon to Serial Mash or an excerpt from a previously published book.
