Parenting in a digital world can be tough. Our children are more tech-savvy than ever before, and keeping up with them is tricky business.
How can we guide our children safely through a world we never knew at their age? How can we best model responsible online behaviour and what do we need to know as parents to ensure our children are navigating the internet safely?
We've published a free guide to answer questions like these and help support parents in enabling their children to grow into responsible digital citizens. And if you struggle to tell your phishing from your pharming, there's also a jargon-busting glossary to get you up to speed.
digital footprint and online reputation
online relationships
bullying, well-being and mental health
being a role-model
self-image and identity
developing scepticism
credit and ownership
getting to grips with devices and their software
This guide has been a huge help in making me reflect on my own behaviours and how I approach online safety with my three primary aged children. The top tips combined with the sobering facts were a great, quick reference point I could dip into as and when needed. I really like how the guide starts with the parents' behaviours and then provides advice for the big concerns with online safety. An invaluable, handy guide, a must for all parents with children of primary age.
