Celebrate the 2023 Men's Rugby World Cup in class!

Aug. 21, 2023

The men’s Rugby World Cup takes place in France from 8th September to 20th October 2023, with all home nations taking part it gives schools the perfect opportunity to teach rugby and for pupils to find out more about the 20 countries participating.

To support schools, we have put together a free pack to use during the tournament, featuring resources from Striver and Purple Mash.  It includes warm-up activities for PE lessons, rugby skill lessons and writing templates - all free to use in school over the next couple of months.

Striver includes a whole school PE scheme of work with over 400 PE lessons, supported by six wellbeing units all housed on a clever website that makes planning and assessment a breeze. It includes everything that a PE co-ordinator needs to support them in their job including bespoke reports, a calendar function alongside a wealth of subject leader support.

Purple Mash has a range of resources that can be used during the Rugby World Cup and offers the perfect opportunity to link geography to sport, with pupils being able to use the country fact files to find out more about the countries taking part this year.

They can also hone their journalistic writing techniques by completing a match report, finding out more about their favourite player and researching previous winners of the Rugby World Cup. There are also creative applications that pupils can use to design the front cover for a rugby magazine or design a poster to cheer on their favourite team, as well as using one of our paint projects to design a rugby shirt.

Purple Mash subscribers can access all the resources here, or access some by downloading our Rugby World Cup pack, or take a trial of Purple Mash and discover the wealth of resources that teachers and pupils can access across the curriculum.
